Όλα είναι μέρος μακροπρόθεσμου σχεδίου It's all a part of a long-term plan

Σήμερα ξέφυγα λίγο από την κανονική ροή. Άλλο σκίτσο είχα σκοπό να βγάλω αλλά προτίμησα κάτι πιο επίκαιρο. Καλά να πάθουμε. Αυτούς θέλουμε, αυτούς λουζόμαστε. Σήμερα έχουμε και νιούζλέττερ, μην ξεχνάμε, έτσι; Άντε, φιλάκια σας. Τα λέμε μεθαύριο πάλι.

Today I'm off the regular flow. I intended to post another comic but I preferred something more up-to-date. You may not know it but every summer several forests get burned down here and that's all. Those responsible for preventing or correcting the situations are totally incompetent and they know only how to save money for themselves. Anyway, today we have the newsletter, don't forget, right? Γουάου! Επέτειος! Wow! Anniversary!

Σήμερα πήγαινα για άλλο σκίτσο, αλλά θυμήθηκα ότι πριν από 42 χρόνια είχε ξεκινήσει μία σημαντική περίοδος ευημερίας, ελευθερίας και προόδου για το λίκνο τού πολιτισμού, την πατρίδα των επιστημών, τον περίγελο τού πλανήτη. Αντί για τούς βαρεμένους κι επικίνδυνους φασίστες τής περιόδου, για σήμερα έχουμε τούς γραφικούς νοσταλγούς τους. Και είναι γραφικοί όσο η εξουσία τους περιορίζεται στις μεσημεριανές τηλεοπτικές εκπομπές. Ελπίζω πως δεν θα χρειαστεί να δούμε πόσο επικίνδυνοι μπορούν να γίνουν. Και ανησυχώ γιατί, αν και η ιστορία επαναλαμβάνεται, ο κόσμος δεν δείχνει ικανός να διδαχτεί από αυτήν. Τα ξαναλέμε την Πέμπτη.

Today I was gonna post another drawing but I remembered that 42 years ago, an important era had begun of prosperity, freedom and progress for the cradle of civilisation, the home of science, the clown of the planet. (for those of you who don't know -and have not obligation to, of course-, on April 21st, 1967, some military people's coup turned the place into a huge training ground) Instead of the paranoid and dangerous fascists of that period, today we have their picturesque fans. And they will remain picturesque as long as their authority is limited to the midday TV shows. I hope that we won't need to realise how dangerous they can be. And I'm worried because, even if history repeats itself, people don't seem capable of learning from it. See you again on Thursday.

In the greek language, the word "graphics" and the plural of "picturesque" are expressed by the same word (grafika). So, the guys there say something like "here's our card" and the caption says "my first graphics card wasn't quite as I had imagined it". Today's cast consists of (from left to right): George Karatzaferis (president of the fascist/nazi/far right wing party LA.O.S.), Spyridon-Adonis (it's Άδωνις, not Αντώνης) Georgiades (deputy of the fascist/nazi/far right wing party LA.O.S.) and Panayiotis Psomiades (prefect of Thessaloniki, b-singer, friend of the fascist/nazi/far right wing party LA.O.S, member of the fascist/nazi/far right wing party New Democracy). One worse than the other. Altogether, a pleasant combination. A mind-laxative.

Κακοί κουκουλοφόροι! Κακοί! Θα μάς κάψουν τα μαγαζιά, θα μάς ρημάξουν τα σπίτια, θα μάς χτυπήσουν! Δεν θα τούς το επιτρέψουμε! Αυτό είναι δουλειά τής κυβέρνησης! Εδώ, εμείς τα κανάλια θα σάς δείξουμε την αλήθεια. Κι εσείς θα πιστεύετε τις μαλακίες που θα σάς λέμε, διότι θα τις επαναλάβουμε τόσες φορές που θα σάς γίνουν αυτονόητες. Κι επίσης, είστε και ανίκανοι να σκεφτείτε λίγο από μόνοι σας, γιατί αυτό προϋποθέτει κόπο και ποιος κάθεται να δει τηλεόραση για να κουράσει το μυαλό του;

Όσο κι αν με ξενερώνουν αυτοί οι καραγκιόζηδες, αυτός ο καιρός με φτιάχνει. Ξέρω ότι για κανένα εξάμηνο θα έχουμε από καλοκαιρία μέχρι καλοκαίρι και αυτό μού αρέσει. Και πιο πολύ γουστάρω τις υπαίθριες συναυλίες στις οποίες θα πάρουμε μέρος μέσα στους καλοκαιρινούς μήνες. Ανυπομονώ να κοπανηθούμε πάλι επί σκηνής, αρκεί να μη ρίξει καμμία ρημαδοβροχή, όπως πέρσι. Επιστρέφουμε τη Δευτέρα!

Bad hood-heads (I don't know how to translate this...)! Bad! They'll burn our stores, ruin our homes, hit us! We won't allow them! That's the government's job! Here, we channels, will show you the truth. And you will believe the bullshit we'll be telling you because we'll repeat them so many times that they will become natural to you. Also, you're incapable of thinking for yourselves because this demands to spend energy and who the heck sits in front of TV to tire their brains?

As much as those bastards upset me, this weather cheers me up. I know that for about 6 months there will be from nice weather to full summer and I like that. What I like most are the outside concerts in which we will participate during the summer months. I can't wait to headbang on stage as long as there won't be any damn rain, like last year. Η συνταγή είναι διαχρονική. Πρώτα ανακατεύουμε άγρια. Μετά, προσθέτουμε μερικά φασαριατζίδικα στοιχεία και τελικά, σερβίρουμε ασφάλεια με αυστηρότερα μέτρα και με τη συναίνεση τού κόσμου (ή των γκάλοπ των εφημερίδων, που προσωπικά δεν εμπιστεύομαι καθόλου). Κάποια στιγμή θα ποινικοποιήσουν και την ομιλία, γιατί μιλώντας μπορεί να διαφωνήσεις κι αν διαφωνήσεις μπορεί να γίνεις βίαιος και αν γίνεις βίαιος μπορεί να σπάσεις κανένα ψιλικατζίδικο και καλό είναι να είμαστε ασφαλείς κι ας μη μιλάμε καθόλου. Εντάξει, μεγάλο το μερίδιο στην ηλιθιότητα, αφού τούς ψηφίζουμε, αλλά το πρόβλημα είναι ότι κυβερνούν άλλοι, που δεν τούς έχουμε ψηφίσει. Καθώς και το ότι είμαστε προσκυνημένοι.

The recipe has proven itself through time. We stir wildly first. Then, we add some noisy elements and, finally, we serve safety with more strict measures and with people (or the newspapers' polls, that personally I don't trust at all) backing on us. Some time, speech will be illegal because by speaking you may disagree and if you disagree you may break some convenient store and it's good to be safe even if we don't get to speak at all. All right, we own a big part of the stupidity pie, since we vote for them, but the problem is that the people who govern are some that we haven't voted for them. Also, we're bowing to them.
