You, non-greek speaking people, have no clue about today's picture. So, there are some words in the greek language that consist of two words. The word for chainsaw, though, is something like "chasaw" because the last syllable of the "chain" part is omitted. The same stupidity applies to the word "sausagepie", that becomes "sausapie" with no apparent reason for that. Anyway, the words in the pic say: "CHASAW - BECAUSE SAUSAPIE WAS FEELING LONELY".

Άργησα σήμερα, το ξέρω. Αλλά σιγά μην το κατάλαβε κανείς! Λοιπόν, για όσους έχουν απορίες, το παρόν κόμικ βασίστηκε στην ιστορία με τούς εμπόρους στο ναό τού Σολομώντα και τα κλωτσίδια που ακολούθησαν. Αυτά. Τα ξαναλέμε την Τρίτη. Ελπίζω οι χαρούμενοι γιουροβιζιονίστες να αισθάνονται αρκετά ταπεινωμένοι και εθνικά ντροπιασμένοι. Προσωπικά, θα προτιμούσα μεγαλύτερο καταποντισμό. Οποιοδήποτε παιχνίδι, από τα παλιότερα μέχρι τα πιο σύγχρονα, έχει καλύτερη περιγραφή από τούς κρετίνους τής ΕΡΤ με πρώτους τον εθνικό τηλετσιριδοχειροκροτητή, Κώστα Βερνίκο και τον αγαπημένο πουρουπουπού των φιλάθλων, Παύλο Παπαδημητρίου. Όσοι βλέπετε ακόμα μπάλα, καλά να πάθετε. Επόμενο ποστ, την Παρασκευή. Μη χαθούμε! It's the second consecutive sketch I'm posting so late at night and, as you can imagine, I'm not in the best possible condition. I guess that on Tuesday morning I'm gonna be better and less tired, which I seriously doubt. I hope you'll like today's comic.

Explanation: When somebody says "your breads are over" (that's the exact translation), they mean that "you are finished". So, that's what the non-visible guy told the beaten up guy, who responded "yes, but I also have pies". And the caption says "It's not fun to say to a fast-food owner that his breads are over". Σήμερα πήγαινα για άλλο σκίτσο, αλλά θυμήθηκα ότι πριν από 42 χρόνια είχε ξεκινήσει μία σημαντική περίοδος ευημερίας, ελευθερίας και προόδου για το λίκνο τού πολιτισμού, την πατρίδα των επιστημών, τον περίγελο τού πλανήτη. Αντί για τούς βαρεμένους κι επικίνδυνους φασίστες τής περιόδου, για σήμερα έχουμε τούς γραφικούς νοσταλγούς τους. Και είναι γραφικοί όσο η εξουσία τους περιορίζεται στις μεσημεριανές τηλεοπτικές εκπομπές. Ελπίζω πως δεν θα χρειαστεί να δούμε πόσο επικίνδυνοι μπορούν να γίνουν. Και ανησυχώ γιατί, αν και η ιστορία επαναλαμβάνεται, ο κόσμος δεν δείχνει ικανός να διδαχτεί από αυτήν. Τα ξαναλέμε την Πέμπτη.

Today I was gonna post another drawing but I remembered that 42 years ago, an important era had begun of prosperity, freedom and progress for the cradle of civilisation, the home of science, the clown of the planet. (for those of you who don't know -and have not obligation to, of course-, on April 21st, 1967, some military people's coup turned the place into a huge training ground) Instead of the paranoid and dangerous fascists of that period, today we have their picturesque fans. And they will remain picturesque as long as their authority is limited to the midday TV shows. I hope that we won't need to realise how dangerous they can be. And I'm worried because, even if history repeats itself, people don't seem capable of learning from it. See you again on Thursday.

In the greek language, the word "graphics" and the plural of "picturesque" are expressed by the same word (grafika). So, the guys there say something like "here's our card" and the caption says "my first graphics card wasn't quite as I had imagined it". Φτάσαμε κιόλας στην Τετάρτη. Το θείο δράμα αναμένει την κορύφωσή του κι εμείς οι πιστοί χριστιανοί που γεμίζουμε τις καφετέριες, ζούμε σε ένα κατανυκτικό κλίμα.

Στις (λίγες, το ξέρω) διαφημίσεις, προστέθηκε το MobileFun, ένα μαγαζί από το οποίο έκανα μία παραγγελία και έμεινα ικανοποιημένος. Εννοείται ότι, αν οι διαφημίσεις είναι ενοχλητικές, περνάτε κατευθείαν στα κόμικς, τα οποία δεν χρεώνονται! Την Παρασκευή, πάλι εδώ θα είμαστε!

Now, this is gonna be difficult. I'll give it a try though. So, when two unrelated women are married to two brothers, those women are called "synnyfathes", literally, co-brides. Those flakes on the photo, say "hello, synnifatha", which literally means co-flake (nifatha = flake, nyfee = bride). And that's the funny thing. All people who have attended an Amontarista Plana gig, get to listen to that little story. Some laugh, some don't.

So, it's already Wednesday. The divine passion is approaching its climaxing and all we, faithful christians that fill the cafeterias, live in a state of grief and sorrow.

Σήμερα ξεκινάει η μεγαλύτερη όλων των εβδομάδων. Το πάθος ξεκινάει με ωράριο 8:00-14:00 και 17:00-21:00 για τέσσερις σκληρές μέρες, κορυφώνεται την Παρασκευή με ένα περίεργο 13:00-20:00 και τελικά έρχεται η λύτρωση τού Σαββάτου, όπου, μετά από το 8:00-16:00, ακολουθούν δύο μέρες αργίας. Αλλά αυτό είναι και το χριστιανικό πνεύμα. Ανοίξτε τα μαγαζιά για να ψωνίσει ο κόσμος. Και προφανώς η χριστιανική μυθολογία είναι εκτός πραγματικότητας και ανάξια λόγου. Άξιες λόγου είναι μόνο οι επιπτώσεις της στον κόσμο που "αναζητά λίγη ελπίδα για τις δύσκολες μέρες που περνάει" κλπ.

Σε ρεπορτάζ των ειδήσεων τής κρατικής τηλεόρασης, η λέξη "κρίση" πρέπει να ακούστηκε τουλάχιστον 20 φορές. Η "δημοσιογράφος" σταματούσε κόσμο στον δρόμο και τούς ρωτούσε διάφορες πίπες και έχωνε και μία κρίση για να μάς πλύνει καλά τον εγκέφαλο. "Σάς επηρέασε η κρίση;" "Τί πιστέυετε για την κρίση;" "Θα την πάθετε τη νευρική κρίση;" "ΣΟΥ ΕΧΕΙ ΑΠΟΜΕΙΝΕΙ ΛΙΓΗ ΚΡΙΣΗ ΡΕ ΠΑΝΗΛΙΘΙΕ Ή ΑΚΟΥΣ ΚΑΙ ΧΩΝΕΥΕΙΣ ΚΑΤΕΥΘΕΙΑΝ;" Σικτίρ. Τα λέμε την Τετάρτη. Today begins the week that leads to the easter of the orthodox dogma. Actually, it's a bit tough for the stores, since the hours are getting more and more but that's the christian spirit. Open the stores so that we can buy things. And, of course, christian mythology is out of reality and worthless to talk about. Κακοί κουκουλοφόροι! Κακοί! Θα μάς κάψουν τα μαγαζιά, θα μάς ρημάξουν τα σπίτια, θα μάς χτυπήσουν! Δεν θα τούς το επιτρέψουμε! Αυτό είναι δουλειά τής κυβέρνησης! Εδώ, εμείς τα κανάλια θα σάς δείξουμε την αλήθεια. Κι εσείς θα πιστεύετε τις μαλακίες που θα σάς λέμε, διότι θα τις επαναλάβουμε τόσες φορές που θα σάς γίνουν αυτονόητες. Κι επίσης, είστε και ανίκανοι να σκεφτείτε λίγο από μόνοι σας, γιατί αυτό προϋποθέτει κόπο και ποιος κάθεται να δει τηλεόραση για να κουράσει το μυαλό του;

Όσο κι αν με ξενερώνουν αυτοί οι καραγκιόζηδες, αυτός ο καιρός με φτιάχνει. Ξέρω ότι για κανένα εξάμηνο θα έχουμε από καλοκαιρία μέχρι καλοκαίρι και αυτό μού αρέσει. Και πιο πολύ γουστάρω τις υπαίθριες συναυλίες στις οποίες θα πάρουμε μέρος μέσα στους καλοκαιρινούς μήνες. Ανυπομονώ να κοπανηθούμε πάλι επί σκηνής, αρκεί να μη ρίξει καμμία ρημαδοβροχή, όπως πέρσι. Επιστρέφουμε τη Δευτέρα!

As much as those bastards upset me, this weather cheers me up. I know that for about 6 months there will be from nice weather to full summer and I like that. What I like most are the outside concerts in which we will participate during the summer months. I can't wait to headbang on stage as long as there won't be any damn rain, like last year. Μερικοί το έλεγαν Μπούμπλε Μπούμπλε Bubble Bobble Trouble

Νά'μαστε πάλι! Το σημερινό σχέδιο είναι για όσους θυμούνται (γεννημένοι πριν το 1990) ή γνωρίζουν (γεννημένοι από το 1990 κι ύστερα) το Bubble Bobble, ένα κλασικό παιχνίδι τής δεκαετίας τού 1980, που είχε πρωτοεμφανστεί στα κερματοφάγα μηχανήματα γύρω στο 1986. Και αυτά για σήμερα! Τα Αμοντάριστα Πλάνα θα κάνουν ένα μικρό διάλειμμα δύο εβδομάδων και θα επιστρέψουν με γεμάτες μπαταρίες για να ξαναβγάλουμε ωραία γούστα. Εμείς τα ξαναλέμε το Σάββατο!

Για μη αγγλομαθείς: Η φράση "I rest my case" είναι κάτι που λέγεται στο δικαστήριο. Θα ήθελα να σάς πω περισσότερα, αλλά δεν ξέρω πότε ακριβώς. Τουλάχιστον, ξέρω ότι λέγεται! Case σημαίνει υπόθεση (όπως λέμε "υπόθεση πλαστογραφίας"), αλλά και βαλίτσα, χαρτοφύλακας. Rest, σημαίνει ξεκουράζω/ξεκουράζομαι. Τέλος πάντων, κάπως έτσι πάει το αστείο.

Το βράδυ τής Κυριακής ήταν κορυφαίο. Δεν θυμάμαι να γούσταρα ξανά τόσο πολύ ή να κουράστηκα τόσο πολύ. Το Καταφύγιο ήταν γεμάτο από το πρώτο μέχρι και το τελευταίο τραγούδι. Αποκορύφωμα τής βραδιάς ήταν όταν στο Fear of the dark, έσβησαν τα φώτα (κι αναγκαζόμουν να φωτίζω τούς στίχους με το τηλέφωνο) και από κάτω μερικοί τρελαμένοι άρχισαν να χτυπιούνται. Ακόμα πονάει ο αυχένας μου από το headbanging. Πέρασαν τα χρόνια, δεν είμαι για τέτοια (ναι, σίγουρα!) πλέον. Θα το ξανακάνουμε!

Sunday night was top. I don't remember enjoying that much before, or getting so much tired before. Katafygio bar was full from the first to the last song. Peak of the night was when we played Fear of the dark, the lights were turned off (and I had to light the lyrics with the cell phone) and downstairs some crazy guys were fighting. My neck still hurts from headbanging. Years have passed, I'm not suited for such things (yeah, right!) anymore. We'll do it again!

Κυρίως επειδή θα γίνει το λάιβ και δεν θα χρειαστεί να το ξαναπώ μέχρι το επόμενο. Αυτά. Είναι 2:40, πριν λίγο γύρισα από το Ρόδον και λέω να ξεκουραστώ γιατί έρχεται μία μεγάλη (σε διάρκεια και μεγαλείο) μέρα. Για δωράκι, ορίστε και το πρώτο σκίτσο, ταιριαστό και με την αποψινή συναυλία. Τα ξαναλέμε την Τρίτη!

So, this is one of my usual word-confusing situations but this time it's in greek and cannot be translated. I will do my best to explain, though. So, there's this footballer, Ronaldo, who's nickname was something like "phenomena". In greek, this word actually means "this that is seen". So, there's also this greek saying "Phenomena deceive". The word "deceive" is the same as "cheat" at this situation. So, I hope that now you have a good picture. See you on Sunday!

Καλώς τους! Σαν να άρχισε να γίνεται άνοιξη σιγά σιγά, έτσι; Έρχεται και η εποχή που θα πάμε στην εκκλησία για να συγκρίνουμε τα καινούργια μας ρούχα με τούς υπόλοιπους βαρυπενθούντες τον σωτήρα μας χριστιανούς. Η συνταγή είναι διαχρονική. Πρώτα ανακατεύουμε άγρια. Μετά, προσθέτουμε μερικά φασαριατζίδικα στοιχεία και τελικά, σερβίρουμε ασφάλεια με αυστηρότερα μέτρα και με τη συναίνεση τού κόσμου (ή των γκάλοπ των εφημερίδων, που προσωπικά δεν εμπιστεύομαι καθόλου). This is one of my favourites. I enjoyed drawing it, I was staring at it when I finished it and now it's ready to be published. Take a look at the cold face of Stella, who has returned as a cyborg, ready to take her revenge! (for those not aware, "Stella" was a greek movie of the 50's, with Melina Merkouri and George Fountas. In the final scene, one of the most classic ones in the history of greek cinema, they walk towards each other with him telling her "Go away, Stella, I'm holding a knife. I'm gonna kill you, Stella, go!" but she just keeps walking until they come close enough for him to stab her dead. Same thing happens here, but with a different ending. The final panel says "Stella II - The revenge of robots. She's armed and dangerous.)

Ψόφιος μήνας, από πολλές απόψεις. Αύριο είναι η Z-day και είμαι αρκετά περίεργος για αυτό που θα συναντήσω. Αναφορά στη μέρα και -ίσως- φωτογραφίες, θα δημοσιεύσω κάποια στιγμή μέσα στην επόμενη εβδομάδα, στις Γλυκοπατάτες. Βέβαια, είναι λίγο οξύμωρο να μιλάω για το Zeitgeist και παράλληλα να έχω γεμίσει τη σελίδα με μπάνερ και τα σχετικά, αλλά όσο το σύστημα παραμένει όπως έχει, πρέπει να προσπαθήσουμε, έστω και με ανορθόδοξους τρόπους, να κρατηθούμε, μέχρι να γκρεμιστεί επιτέλους.

It's a dead month, in many ways. Tomorrow it's the Z-day and I'm rather curious about what I'm gonna see. Of course, this exposed the extreme incompetence of the government (any government that has abused this area) which they're now trying to cover with meaningful statements and ridiculous cliches. And that's the story about today's comic. The journalist, seeing himself as judge, asks the minister about the government's intentions on the new escape. And the minister answers that they'll deal with it using cliches, announcing measures that will mean nothing, creating a -false- impression about them working on it and, of course, they are counting on the help of the Media of Mass Control to acheive their goals.
